The new Holy Ghost track 'Do It Again' reminds us an awful lot of last year's Shy Child underrated and underachieving album 'Liquid Love'. So if Holy Ghost are the Shy Child of 2011 this means we'll probably end up sat in a Soho pub drinking with the New York duo under the guise of an 'interview' before the year is out.The new track is a free download from their website - so is in effect a mere ploy to learn your email address and hence keep you informed of gigs you can't attend, new videos you may or may not have time to watch and details on their self titled debut album, which is due out on 5 April.
'Do It Again' isn't the same sort of Chromeo-esque indie club sound we've heard on previous tracks such as 'Static On The Wire' (amazing) and 'I Will Come Back' (amazing), it's more downtempo, more pensive and a little more (dare we say) 'funky'. An album opener perhaps - solid enough to say 'hello, we're a new band worth listening to' while at the same time laying the groundwork for the following track to really knock the listener from his or her seat or stool.
If you're not in the mood for a free download, just have a little listen here. It is very good.

Although while we've mentioned Shy Child, we should probably all have a listen to 'Disconnected' again and hang our heads to have a little think about WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN.
