Have the Pussycat Dolls split? Have the Pussycat Dolls not-split? We do not know. We are a music blog, not Mystic Meg.Our only thoughts on the current split-speculation are as follows:
A. We saw them in concert at the start of the year and they were rather excellent.
B. If this is the end of Pussycat Dolls we can be fairly sure we won't be troubled by any more than one solo singing career.
C. If the split is due to the Pussycat Dolls who aren't called Nicole Scherzinger resenting the success of the Pussycat Doll who is called Nicole Scherzinger - surely her solo plans are totally justified, since she's been carrying the group by doing all the singing ever since they released 'Don't Cha' back in 2005.
D. Also, if this is the end of Pussycat Dolls, there will be a lot less 'phwoar Pussycat Dolls' thinking done by men who have seen photos of the girls from a distance once, noticed their clothes are rather scant and thought 'yup, she must be sexy'. They are sort-of sexy yes, but mostly in that 'we might show you a tit later on' sort-of sexy.
E. Robot still remembers the day he realised he knew how to spell 'Scherzinger' without having to reference The Internet and recalls this moment as one of the proudest in his journalism/musical wittering career.
If this truly is the end of the Pussycat Dolls, then it is a sad day for the corset industry :(
